     Welcome To H.E

Introduction & Aims of Department

One of the main objectives of this department is motivation. We motivate each others as teachers & through active learning methodologies; we hope that pupils will not only come to develop understanding of the issues involved but also that their motivation & enthusiasm will be heightened.

We are well aware of classroom dynamics and are well prepared for pupils at different stages of experience, confidence and skill development. We endeavour to provide a supportive learning environment in which pupils will develop their skills and their capabilities.

As teachers we will -

Pay Attention to the process of learning and & not just the end product

Help Pupils to engage in active rather than passive learning

Enable pupils to go beyond mere recall of information and help to develop   positive habits of learning

Allow pupils to evaluate their progress in learning

The five skills we will help pupils develop in our subject are:-

     A)   Managing information
B)    Thinking, problem solving & decision making

     C)    Being creative

     D)   Self management
E)    Working with others
