Music
Music in Drumglass is practically based,encouraging pupils to develop the skills of listening, performing and composing.
The Music Department is well equipped, with keyboards and percussion instruments. There is also plenty of rehearsal space with three practice rooms and an ensemble room.
Drumglass has a visiting peripatetic brass tutor. Other extra curricular activities such as ‘The Brass Group’, and ‘The Choirs” take place mainly at lunchtime. Performance opportunties include UTV’s School Choir of the Year and the local festivals.
The department has also produced concerts, special services and musicals which reveal the wealth of musical talent in the school. For many pupils the experience of participating in these activities is amongst the highlights of their time at Drumglass.
